Benny and I just got back from watching the Expendables and all I can is "wow". If you like action movies at all, this movie is worth the visit. It's like Christmas time in August for me. We had been waiting to see this since we heard rumors about it over a year ago, maybe two years ago. Here's a short list of the people in the movie: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Gary Daniels, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Obviously, everybody can't have equal screen time, but it's enough roids and testosterone to get anybody pumped and enough one liners to choke a deep throating donkey. I liked the movie so much, I have a couple of awards to hand out. The aware for Best Actor of the film goes to the AA-12 that Terry Crews used to make, and I quote, "red sauce" out of people.
For those of you unfamiliar with the weapon,
here's a little lite background material. The award for Best Supporting Actor goes to the M79 grenade launcher carried by Dolph Lundgren.
Compared to the AA-12, the M79 is a finesse weapon, but I think it still manages to get the message across. I found this really cool website that goes into detail about all of firearms from a lot of movies. Check it out:
www.imfdb.org. There's a nice page there for The Expendables.
Rumor has it that the movie has a sequel which has already been green-lighted. I can't wait!
